Why Do Aircraft Still Have Ashtrays While smoking is Banned in airplanes?

 Hello friends
You are welcome again in today's new blog.
Today we will be talk about a new and interesting things.
Whenever you have traveled by aircraft , you must have thought that one time the toilet of an airplane has a small box with cigarette marks.
If airlines have long ago included ashtrays in their aircraft, then why is smoking banned?

Also, one more thing to be noted is that whenever the passengers entered in the airplane, at that time there is a smoke prohibition sign in the upper part of your seat.
Let me tell you that refueling work continues in the airplane at that time.

But even if you don't see an ashtray on the plane, we'll give you a sign where you can find it: just look at the entrance side of the toilet door.  Do not think that you have found only the place where you are allowed to smoke.  Just above the ashtray you may occasionally get a hint of non-smoking.  You may be confused but the explanation is quite clear and easy to understand.

 ■ Historical event ■

The fact is that in-flight smoking is completely banned by almost all airlines.  US Airlines banned smoking in 1988 (yes, it was long ago!).  These flight smoking was banned after 123 passengers died while flying from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.  The pilot was forced to make an accidental landing after a passenger decided to smoke and threw a cigarette in the toilet dustbin, causing it to catch fire.  This serious accident has forced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to implement a new ban on in-flight smoking.

Unfortunately, some prescribed smokers can sometimes break the rule of non-smoking.  This is why it is a legal requirement to have an ashtray in each toilet of the aircraft.  Instead of throwing a cigarette in a trash can, it is safer to put it in the ashtray and eliminate the risk of fire.

Although you now know the answer, we encourage you to break the rules.  Not only will you have to pay a fine (up to 4300 EUR), but you can also be arrested after landing.

Anyone who has traveled by air knows that one cannot burn smoke on a plane without facing some serious consequences, including, a fine (up to $ 5000) and / or arrest.

 ■ Then why are ashtrays put on planes

Suppose even if a small fire spark ever happened in an airplane accidentally, then there should be a place to destroy it, where there is no danger because only that garbage cans in the airplane which is not contain any  paper pages or plastic .
If we will put in Cabin or cockpit  waste bin  cans, there will be more possibility of fire.
Keeping all these problems in mind, ashtrays are made inside all airplanes today.

Also, you must have noticed that in the cabin or cock pit which contains garbage cans, it must be written that no cigarette disposals because the containers of these cucumbers contain paper, water bottles, and many types of garbage which are on fire.  Can be further increased.

How is the ashtray

The ashtray is a square compartment made of steel that flushes through the inside and out side of the  toilet door.
It is a safe place to put things like any tinny fire or cigarette in it.
It is not very large in size.

Well, the answer is quite simple.  Ashtrays are installed on planes so that if a passenger or employee ever encounters a fire problem in flight, there should be a safe place to take it out.

You may be wondering why anyone would go through the trouble of doing such a foolish act, but in fact, there are many instances where passengers were earlier given this facility to do so.
In fact, until 1990, people could smoke freely on flights without fear of being prosecuted.  Therefore it was mandatory to have ashtrays on planes.
Even after the ban, it is mandatory to have an ashtray installed on an aircraft otherwise it is not allowed to take off.

The Code of Federal Regulations states that,
'Whether smoking is allowed in any other part of any airplane, lavatories have self-contained, removable ashtrays located near or near the entrance of each door, except where an ashtray is located on more than one toilet door.  Can serve if the ashtray can be easily viewed from the cabin side of each toilet leading to the toilet.
